- ➤ On Friday, Oct. 10, community members received hands-on emergency training through the Stop the Bleed course and joined a discussion on mental and physical health at Lorretta Johnson Middle School. Free backpacks, wellness kits, and Walmart gift cards were given to early attendees while supplies lasted—cohosted by Monroe County Family Coalition and the Rochester African American Firearms Association. - ➤ Community activists gathered outside Senator Cooney's office on Saturday, Oct. 11 to push local leaders to support the MELT Act—a bill that would ban face masks for law enforcement officers. - ➤ Starting Monday at 7 p.m. until Tuesday at 6 a.m., lanes on I-490 west of Innovative Field will be closed for bridge maintenance — drivers must take the detour using Plymouth Avenue and Brown Street. On Tuesday from 7 p.m. until Wednesday at 6 a.m., closures on I-490 east and at Exit 13 will likely cause travel delays. News 10
