  • The Dezio and Gingello Foundation will serve men at La Madonna Della Strada shelter today from 2 to 4 p.m., offering food from Capone's Italian Eatery & free haircuts donated by local barbers in memory of Sister Grace Miller at 210 West Main St.  News 10
  • Cameron Community Ministries will serve a hot holiday meal with chicken, potatoes, and vegetables on Christmas Eve to nearly 200 visitors in Rochester. The nonprofit needs volunteers and donations to support its effort to fight food insecurity.  News 10

  • Blackfriars Theatre hosts New Year's Eve Musical Mayhem, a local tradition featuring musical roulette, special dessert, and wine reception at 4 and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31.  ABC 13
  • The classic McCurdy’s wreath now hangs at Tower 280 by the restored Clock of Nations in downtown Rochester, rekindling holiday traditions for Christmas. Buckingham Properties collaborated to place the historic symbol where it once marked the start of the holiday shopping season.  News 10

  • Rochester City School District officials are planning a feasibility study to replace a problematic payroll system that has left nearly 600 complaints unresolved since July. District leaders are working around the clock to address errors and ensure staff receive correct pay.  WXXI News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Finger Lakes Land Trust reached a conservation milestone by protecting 35,000 acres across 12 counties after three decades of work. Its projects include protecting 850 feet of Skaneateles Lake shoreline, a new nature preserve at Keuka Lake’s Bluff Point, and a 117-acre addition near Honeoye Lake.  News 10

  • Town officials celebrated the grand opening of a new 8,200 sqft parks department operations building yesterday in Greece. The facility features indoor storage, a repair workspace and a wash station (with lockers and a break room) to support cleaner parks and better-maintained trails.  ABC 13

  • Rochester General Hospital (the only local hospital rated High Performing) is named one of the best for maternity care by U.S. News, earning a 'Baby Friendly' designation for its improved C section rates.
