- ➤ United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes will host ROC the Day on Tuesday, Dec. 2—an online 24-hour fundraiser where donors choose from over 500 local nonprofits in areas like education, health, human services, the arts, the environment, and animals. The event aims to raise $1 million and builds on past campaigns that have raised more than $12 million for local causes. News 10
- ➤ Greece Olympia student Anthony Medina was honored as the final recipient of fall’s 'Do The Right Thing' awards for stepping in during a friend fight instead of recording it — his action highlights the importance of setting a positive example for peers. News 10
- ➤ The 8th annual News10NBC Toys for Tots Holiday Drive is underway with a goal to collect 125,000 toys so every child can have a gift to open during the season. Coordinator Alexis Hogle said they have gathered 30,000 items so far and are most in need of STEM kits, arts and crafts, and self-care items for children ages 9 to 15—donations are accepted at 860 drop-off sites through Dec. 14.
