  • On Friday, Irondequoit Police and Hooked Fish Market collected food and coat donations to support families facing SNAP cuts (affecting over 135,000 local residents) amid growing food insecurity.  News 10
  • Chili community members cheered on local veterans at the Chili Community Center Saturday morning — part of the annual 'Line of Honor' tradition held ahead of Veterans Day on Tuesday. The event featured flag-bearing and supportive messages to honor those who served.  News 10
  • Local leaders organized a county-wide food drive in Rochester to help over 104,000 residents who rely on SNAP as the government shutdown delayed benefits.   • Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority hosted its annual Met Gala-inspired fundraiser Friday at Memorial Art Gallery—raising funds for the Romunda Harris-Fonville Scholarship to help local young women attend college.
