- ➤ Victor residents will have a chance to help shape Mead Square Park as village officials host an open house on Oct. 1 from 3 to 6 p.m. during the Victor Farmers Market at 60 E. Main St—attendees will review a conceptual design by Bayer Landscape Architecture and provide feedback before the plan is presented to the Village Board. Democrat & Chronicle
- ➤ Rochester joins a national Week Without Driving led by Reconnect Rochester and invites residents to travel by walking—biking—bus or e-scooters from today until October 5 to reduce costs and ease traffic. Daily emails will help residents track non-driving miles and offer challenges with prizes. Democrat & Chronicle
- ➤ Hundreds of people took part in the Wilmot Warrior Weekend 6K at Xerox in Webster plus they joined a 1-mile walk and a 12-mile bike ride to raise funds for the Wilmot Cancer Institute. The event raised over $500,000 and fundraising will continue through October. News 10
- ➤ On Sept. 28, the C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association hosted its 17th Annual Recipe For A C.U.R.E. Sunday Brunch at Arbor At The Port where community members enjoyed a fairytale setting with a royal feast prepared by ACF chefs—proceeds supported services for families facing childhood cancer and chronic blood disorders. - ➤ The Memorial Art Gallery celebrated Hispanic Heritage Day on Sunday to mark its 30th event—featuring music, dancing, performances and local artist presentations with free admission. News 10
- ➤ Unicycle Productions will present 'Turtle Island' on Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. at Ganondagan State Historic Site in Victor — the free public arts event retells the Haudenosaunee creation story using giant inflatables, music and Indigenous storytelling. News 10
- ➤ A recreated voyage of the Seneca Chief, the first boat to travel the Erie Canal 200 years ago, passed through Rochester as it sailed from Buffalo toward New York City. The crew living aboard said the boat’s journey—stopping next in Newark on Tuesday and reaching New York City on Oct. 25—draws crowds celebrating our canal heritage. News 10
