- ➤ A scheduled blast at the Dolomite quarry on Monday, Sept. 15 sent rocks onto the nearby Shadow Pines pickleball courts in Penfield—no injuries were reported and town officials along with the DEC are investigating while blasting is suspended. ABC 13

- ➤ Backwoods by Kettle Ridge Farm has opened on Route 31 in Perinton as a seasonal outdoor bar and music venue that offers live music, outdoor dining, and family-friendly spots. - ➤ The 14th Rochester Fringe Festival will close on Saturday, Sept. 20 and will offer 650 shows at more than 30 venues featuring acts in dance, theater, music, comedy, and acrobatics. - ➤ A Sun Day environmental rally will be held at the Finger Lakes Welcome Center in Geneva on Sunday Sept 21 at 1:00 p.m.—local leaders, activists and experts will address clean energy and regional threats like crypto mining at Greenidge Generating Station and permit issues at Seneca Meadows Landfill, urging officials to enhance environmental protections.
