- ➤ Two historic schooners—When and If and Liberty Clipper—will dock at Rochester’s port on Aug. 28th and offer sailing tours on Lake Ontario for Labor Day Weekend. Their return is part of a plan to revitalize the waterfront and draw local crowds. WXXI News
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Following Friday's fatal bus collision on the Thruway in Pembroke—URMC reported that among the six patients they received, one was discharged, one remains in critical condition, and four are stable. ABC 13

- ➤ A 30-year-old Rochester man was hospitalized after being shot on Champlain Street late Saturday night — police said officers responded to a call from Jefferson Avenue around 11:30 p.m. and the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries while the investigation continues. ABC 13
- ➤ Rochester Police identified Gilberto Morales-Cruz, 68, who was shot multiple times on Smith Street near Brown Square — detectives are investigating the fatal shooting that marked the city's 23rd homicide of 2025. Democrat & Chronicle
- ➤ A 63-year-old man died after a hit-and-run crash on Aug 22 on English Road in Greece — police said driver Frankie Spencer left the scene but returned about an hour later — and he is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident and driving while impaired. News 10

- ➤ Victor Antonetti Sr., who founded Orquesta Antonetti, died on Aug. 22nd at 77+ he brought Latin music to Rochester after moving from Puerto Rico in the 1950s. His band and the musicians he mentored continue to honor his legacy in the local salsa community. WXXI News

- ➤ The Broad Street Bridge in downtown Rochester reopened to vehicles and pedestrians after city crews removed logs and debris from the Genesee River on Sunday, August 24—reopening ahead of its scheduled 4 p.m. time.
