ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Officers said a rollover accident occurred Sunday morning when a Dodge Avenger struck a Toyota Sienna at the intersection of Route 104 and Lake Avenue—causing the Toyota to roll over—and the 30-year-old Dodge driver from Rochester was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with leg pain while the Toyota driver from Greece was treated on scene.  Rochester First
  • A 33-year-old scooter rider died after his vehicle collided with a car at the intersection of Dewey Avenue and Avis Street on Saturday—Rochester police reported that the driver, a 49-year-old woman, was not injured and alcohol or drugs were not a factor.  Democrat & Chronicle

  • WXXI Public Media hired veteran executive Julio Sáenz as chief content officer to modernize operations amid a $1.9 million federal funding cut and he starts today.   • Rochester police said they identified 38-year-old Roger Coley Jr. as the victim fatally shot late Friday inside his Niagara Street apartment — investigators believe an argument escalated the incident and no suspects have been arrested.  Democrat & Chronicle
  • A 34-year-old Farmington man, Jose Luis Torres-Berrios, was arrested today after allegedly threatening to blow up Finger Lakes Gaming Casino on State Route 96 in Ontario County—he now faces a terroristic threat charge.  Democrat & Chronicle
