- ➤ Gates police said 25-year-old Wegmans worker J'Mere Ridley-Smith was fatally shot at 4:15 p.m. on July 26 while loading pallets in the warehouse and that colleague Kyshonn Green fled but was later arrested in Tennessee—he will be extradited for arraignment once charges are determined after discussions with the district attorney. - ➤ Police reported that a Wegmans employee fatally shot a co-worker inside the Brooks Avenue warehouse on July 26 and fled before U.S. Marshals arrested him in Tennessee on Sunday—he now faces charges in Gates. ABC 13
- ➤ Monday marked one year since the Maplewood Park mass shooting that killed two—one being city worker Tyasia Manning—and wounded five during a local barbeque as police said at least nine people fired guns while suspect Niger Johnson pleaded not guilty to charges of reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.
