- ➤ Rochester police charged 24-year-old Leonel Yas Pena with multiple felony counts after a June 14 hit-and-run fatally struck 70-year-old doorman Hank Brown near his East End home—Yas Pena turned himself in on July 24 amid reports he was allegedly intoxicated after leaving a bar. - ➤ One week ago, a 10-year-old boy was shot multiple times in his bedroom on Smith Street in Rochester and survived after officers and EMS provided first aid, but police are still searching for multiple suspects and urge anyone with information to call (585) 423-9300 or (911) immediately. - ➤ Chuck Mangione, a famous jazz musician known for his hit song "Feels So Good" and his role on King of the Hill, died in his sleep at his Rochester home on July 22 when he was 84.
