  • Rochester Pride Parade and Festival will begin Saturday at 11 a.m. on South Avenue near Science Parkway and march to Highland Park for a day of local food trucks, live music, and drag queen performances — the event will run rain or shine. General admission costs $5 with free entry for children 12 and under, and free parking with shuttle service is offered at several local lots.  Rochester First
  • Bob Johnson Mazda in Rochester hosted its third Sit, Stay, Drive dog adoption event where eleven local rescue groups brought adoptable dogs of all ages and featured fun activities, food trucks and a silent disco (designed to ease the burden on rescues amid a local puppy crisis). Organizers said they aimed to adopt more than 27 dogs compared to previous events.  News 10

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 75-year-old hiker from Pittsford fell into Clark Gully in Middlesex on Friday near 8 a.m. and was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital with possible head and neck injuries — rescuers from several agencies extricated her from a 90-foot drop.  Rochester First

CRIME NEWS

  • The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is asking for help finding 16-year-old Jaylynn Alvord, who was last seen Thursday at 7:30 a.m. leaving her home in Hamlin wearing black shorts, black shoes and a red hoodie with flames — anyone with information should call 911.  ABC 13

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Villager Construction Inc. will begin paving and milling on Park Avenue starting Monday, July 21 from Alexander Street to Oxford Street and on Alexander from Tracy Street to Park Avenue. Parking will be banned and traffic delays will occur daily from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.—vehicles violating restrictions risk towing.  Rochester First
