ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A man in his 30s died after his car left the road and struck a tree near Ridgeway Avenue and Truesdale Street at 11 a.m. on Friday when he suffered a medical incident — officers found him unresponsive, took him to a hospital where he was later declared dead, and the roadway has since reopened. - ➤ DEC officials are investigating a viral video from a Ring doorbell that shows a large wild cat roaming a Rochester neighborhood—a wildlife expert from Cornell noted the animal's long tail and larger shape may indicate a cougar rather than a bobcat. - ➤ The Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport launched a pilot program that gives deaf and hard-of-hearing travelers free access to the AIRA ASL smartphone app for check-in+TSA screening+dining areas. - ➤ Rochester has not hired a permanent shelter veterinarian after a nationwide search began in spring 2024 and now depends on per diem contracts for animal care.
