- ➤ The Rochester Night Market opened July 1 at the Exchange in the Plymouth-Exchange neighborhood at the Refinery, hosting 26 local vendors from Rochester and Upstate New York with food trucks and live music. It runs every other Tuesday from 6 to 10 p.m. until Oct. 28 — it will move indoors for winter. Rochester Beacon
- ➤ The Boys & Girls Clubs of Rochester received over 1,000 pounds of non-perishable food from Pulsafeeder on Wednesday, July 9. This donation—marking the fifth year of the partnership—boosted efforts to support local families in need and help serve programs for over 2,000 youth. ABC 13
- ➤ Residents in Perinton are proposing a winter carnival with an outdoor skating rink in partnership with Fairport to boost local recreation and tourism. Project leader Brian Stancampiano said the proposal will bring the community together—allowing kids to enjoy creative, open-air skating. ABC 13

- ➤ Greece Police Department said Matthew Belk—owner of Jackson's Bakery—is wanted on charges of grand larceny and unauthorized use of a vehicle after an arrest in Canandaigua found him with drugs, a stolen van and credit cards; the Monroe County Health Department shut the bakery on Stone Road last month for unsafe conditions with 13 violations while he is also accused of trespassing in Genesee County. - ➤ On Tuesday night, the Rochester Board of Education voted 4-3 against a one-year contract extension for RCSD teachers that would have provided a four percent raise and a $2,500 retention bonus (vote split details). The teachers union is now asking for a re-vote to fix the decision and stop more educators from leaving (union concerns). Rochester First

- ➤ A Rochester resident’s Ring camera recorded what is believed to be a mountain lion roaming Breck Street off E Main Street early Wednesday — local officials have not yet confirmed the animal’s identity. Rochester First
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Town leaders in Victor are working on a plan to maintain fire services if Fisher’s Fire District dissolves, with Supervisor Jack Marren noting concerns about coverage along I-490 and the Thruway. The town is asking that any dissolution be delayed until Dec. 31—ensuring new arrangements are in place before changes occur. News 10
- ➤ New York’s STAR program will send property tax relief checks this summer and fall to nearly 3 million homeowners. Homeowners in Rochester can expect a Basic STAR Credit of $350 to $600 and seniors an Enhanced STAR Credit of $700 to $1,500 between late June and mid-July — amounts vary with local school tax rates. Evans encouraged Rochester residents today to use City programs designed to keep families healthy and safe during the summer, including enhanced police presence and special recreation events.
