- ➤ A Rochester officer spotted a car linked to a gunpoint carjacking on the north side and pursued it until the vehicle crashed on Joseph Avenue near Weyl Street around 4 p.m. on Wednesday—two civilians riding in the struck vehicles were hospitalized with minor injuries while three suspects were taken into custody. - ➤ On March 5, Rotterdam police arrested Michel Garcia Rojas and Maria Duque-Muriel after cameras at a Hannaford store caught them hiding grocery items worth $159.07 in a stroller, and officers then called ICE under the Laken Riley Law—making this one of its first tests in upstate New York. - ➤ Two teens were accused of firing shots in the 19th Ward and led police on a chase when their car did not pull over and crashed at Fromm Place and Bay Street on Tuesday night — police arrested the suspects after a foot chase and the other car’s driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
