  • Gary Craig retired after decades as a reporter who helped free Betty Tyson nearly 30 years ago by exposing flaws in the 1970s case behind her wrongful conviction. CRIME NEWS

  • Two teens — a 14-year-old taken into custody on June 5 and a 15-year-old who turned himself in — face charges of attempted second-degree murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon after a May 29 shooting on Clifford Avenue injured a 17-year-old, with both now held at the Monroe County Children’s Center.  News 10
  • Police in Rochester are searching for 17-year-old Amarianna Reed, last seen on Holland Street at 9:15 p.m. Monday—she is 5-foot-2, 113 pounds with red hair and brown eyes and may be in danger.  ABC 13

  • The Wood Brothers will headline the Rochester Jazz Festival by performing roots music at Kodak Hall at 8:00 p.m. on June 24.  ABC 13

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The State Senate passed the Medical Aid in Dying Act that lets terminally ill adults with six months or less to live choose a peaceful end by prescription—now Gov. Hochul will review the legislation amid both support from hospice care leaders and moral concerns from some lawmakers.  Rochester First
