  • The first annual Seviyn Strong Heterotaxy Awareness Walk took place Sunday, May 24 at Genesee Valley Park. Families and advocates gathered & showed support for those affected by the rare condition at Dolah Me After Care’s event honoring Breonna Orum's daughter.  ABC 13
  • The Monroe Astronautical Rocket Society hosted the National Sport Launch East in Geneseo on Sunday, drawing local rocketry fans to a live display of amateur launches.  ABC 13
  • News10NBC’s Rochester in Focus featured local leaders discussing suicide prevention in construction — along with Rochester’s Fashion Week founder launching a new charity venture — while the 19th Ward Square Fair is set for June 6 and a Grammy-nominated saxophonist expands his free music lesson program.  News 10

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Rochester Prep seniors celebrated college acceptances on Friday at a school event where 90 students announced their plans, with 19 earning full rides and 87% accepted for both two-year and four-year programs while others received student loans under $6,000.  News 10

HEALTH NEWS

  • Community members took part in the Seviyn Strong Heterotaxy Awareness Walk on Sunday at the Roundhouse Shelter at Genesee Valley Park to raise awareness about a rare birth defect (heterotaxy). They wore blue shirts with Seviyn Strong and joined the event to honor Seviyn’s survival.  News 10
