- ➤ Rochester man Peter Scott was arrested yesterday after being identified as the suspect in a December attack on a Norton Street porch that killed 76 year old Valeri Brintev—Brintev, who suffered from dementia and used a walker, was beaten repeatedly and Scott is held on $100,000 bail with a preliminary hearing set for tomorrow. - ➤ A 27-year-old man named Kevin Whitman is facing charges for allegedly distributing controlled substances—mostly oxycodone—while posing as a physician by using a DEA number from Strong Memorial Hospital between August 2023 and April 2025, and officers found a fake diploma from the University of Rochester Medical School during a home search. - ➤ A man was injured when his home was broken into early Friday on Morton Street off Bay Street as police arrested two people, with a handgun used during the break-in (the 39-year-old victim sustained upper-body injuries) and he was taken to the hospital (he is expected to recover). News 10
