- ➤ The City of Rochester Public Market at 280 N. Union St. announced eight days of market events from May 22 through May 29 that include regular shopping + themed Flower City Days. - ➤ Communities in Greater Rochester will hold a series of Memorial Day parades and ceremonies to honor veterans—events begin on May 22 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery and continue with parades in Irondequoit, Rochester, and other towns like Chili, Fairport, Gates, Greece, Penfield, Pittsford, and Victor as well as a ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. - ➤ Residents at Danforth Towers and Hudson Ridge Towers in Rochester have been told to leave by Friday after Family Service of Rochester ended its Enriched Housing Program and owes over six figures in back rent. The Rochester Housing Authority said it is working with state agencies and lawyers—roughly 75 elderly and disabled tenants face uncertain futures—while efforts for a solution continue. News 10

- ➤ Rochester police are asking for help finding Jared Oswald, 50, who was last seen Monday morning walking away from a house on Harding Road wearing a gray hoodie, green T-shirt and blue jeans and is thought to be in danger due to unique circumstances—call 911 if you have any information. ABC 13
- ➤ Rochester police say a 17-year-old boy is accused of carrying out two gunpoint robberies late Monday night when he allegedly threatened a bicyclist on Lexington Avenue and a pedestrian on Malling Drive, and officers later arrested him near Glenwood Avenue—Finch Street, recovering a revolver and stolen property. - ➤ Michael Scott Jr., a 22-year-old Rochester man, pleaded guilty to manslaughter for two shootings that killed Cahj’miere Robinson on September 11 and Demetrius Rucker on August 4—and he received a 30-year sentence. Rochester First
- ➤ In April, Carol received a video from her sister showing her holding a 9mm and saying that Carol was to blame for her plan to kill herself, so Carol called police and a Monroe County sheriff’s deputy later went to her sister’s home, took the illegal gun, arranged hospital care, & filed a year-long Temporary Extreme Risk Protection Order. - ➤ Rochester first-grade teachers Stacy Franzese and Lisa Oliver won the Golden Apple Award for their work at School Number 16 after parent Marshona Jones-Hymes nominated them for the impact they had on her twin boys.
