- ➤ Rochester fire crews battled a basement fire on Colvin Street Sunday afternoon—causing significant damage to both the basement and first floor while all six occupants, including one adult and five children, remained safely outside and the home was declared unlivable after the fire was controlled in 20 minutes. - ➤ Frank Martusciello has quietly reopened his Italian bakery Casa Saratoga at 2280 Lyell Ave. in Gates after more than three years away; he runs the shop solo, baking breads, pastries, calzones and pizzas for loyal neighborhood customers. The bakery is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Martusciello hopes to eventually take on a partner to keep his family's legacy alive. - ➤ On Saturday at 9:10 p.m., a 71-year-old homeless man was hit by a black sedan while crossing West Ridge and Bonesteel roads; he suffered lower body injuries and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, and police are asking anyone with information to call 911. News 10

- ➤ Store owners and consumers are split over a proposed state Senate bill that would let grocery stores sell wine—liquor store operators warn it could cut jobs and income while chains like Tops and Wegmans back the move for easier access to local wines.
