COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Lollypop Farm is now one of only five places in Greater Rochester certified for sensory inclusion by offering KultureCity sensory bags that have soundproof earmuffs, sunglasses, fidget tools, mood signs, and lanyards at the front desk to help visitors with anxiety, PTSD, autism, dementia, or other neurodivergent challenges. CRIME NEWS

  • Two men were shot outside Cinemark Tinseltown at 2291 Buffalo Road early Friday morning and received treatment for injuries that are not life-threatening — officers reported that the alleged shooter fled before police arrived.  Democrat & Chronicle
  • The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is asking for help to find 12-year-old Sah’rya Sharp—last seen around 4 p.m. Tuesday leaving her home on Penfield Road while wearing black pants and a black hoodie—and urges anyone with information to call 911.  ABC 13

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Thursday, the Town of Webster cut the ribbon on its new highway facility off Hard Road that took two years to build + now stores 25 salt trucks. The 80,000-square-foot building is named for Barry Deane + will offer public tours in the coming months.  News 10
  • The City of Rochester received a copy of yesterday's DOJ complaint and called it political theater rather than valid legal action. The Mayor and City Council President said the city will defend its sound Sanctuary City policy and focus on public safety — not on federal immigration enforcement.  City of Rochester

HEALTH NEWS

  • Critical care professionals gathered on April 25 for the inaugural Adult Critical Care Gala to raise funds and awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation through the Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network—with proceeds from ticket sales, donations and raffles supporting public and professional education. 13WHAM's Scott Hetsko, a heart transplant recipient, shared his personal experience as critical care teams from across the region united for the cause.  ABC 13
