  • Rochester City School District is proposing budget cuts that may reduce mental health, social work, and home hospital supports by millions — a public hearing is scheduled for April 21 at Central Office amid a $60 million deficit, and community members warn that the changes could hurt vulnerable students.  WXXI News
  • On Thursday, April 16, Edison Career and Technology High School in Rochester hosted its fifth annual Diesel Days event, where students explored diesel, transportation, and heavy equipment careers with hands-on demonstrations and one-on-one career networking.  ABC 13
  • Over 900 students attended the Future Business Leaders of America conference at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center on Thursday, Apr. 16, where they competed in business challenges & joined motivational workshops.   • Episcopal Church Home held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, April 16 in Rochester to mark a 19-month renovation that added private rooms and improved rehab spaces for seniors.  ABC 13

  • Tap It Bar & Grill in Chili is a finalist for best burger in New York as listed by the New York Beef Council. A panel of judges will visit on May 13 in Albany to sample the contenders — the restaurant made the list last year as well.  News 10
