- ➤ After a burglary at a West Ridge Road gas station where the glass door was smashed and merchandise stolen, police arrested 47-year-old Juan Merced on Strathmore Circle after Monroe County deputies had stopped his vehicle about half an hour earlier. NewsRadio WHAM
- ➤ Two people were charged after an armed robbery occurred at M and T Bank at 6560 Fourth Section Road in Sweden on Monday afternoon — deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and Brockport police secured the scene. Democrat & Chronicle
- ➤ A Rochester man, Walter Balkum Jr., 49, was convicted by a state Supreme Court jury of first-degree manslaughter and aggravated criminal contempt for beating his girlfriend to death in front of her 9-year-old daughter on Aug. 27 at her home on Hazelwood Terrace—he was also convicted of two counts of second-degree assault for stabbing her and her adult son on June 2.
