ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A massive landslide forced the Rin family to leave their Irondequoit home on Carlsam Drive after heavy rains caused the backyard to slide 20 to 30 feet deep and the Fire Marshal declared the property unsafe — they now sleep with relatives as officials have yet to respond. News 10
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Rochester Community Players will present Teresa Deevy’s 1937 drama Wife to James Whelan next week at the Multi-use Community Cultural Center on Atlantic Ave. The eight performances are scheduled from April 9 to 18 & the April 11 show will be ASL interpreted. Rochester Beacon
- ➤ Local folk trio the Travis Prinzi Band performed at ARC Rochester on Friday, April 3, closing out the week with a folky set. The band includes singer-guitarist Travis Prinzi, fiddler Abbey Gebel, and bassist Brad Prinzi. FOX Rochester

- ➤ AAA reported that on Friday, gas prices in Rochester and Monroe County topped $4 per gallon, up 7 cents from last week while diesel averaged $5.747 per gallon, up from $4.024 last month. WXXI News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ After heavy rains raised Genesee River levels, Mount Morris Dam closed its hydraulic lift gates Tuesday evening to hold back water and protect nearby communities, and reopened them Thursday night when levels became normal. Located 60 miles upstream, the dam stores an 86-foot deep lake and has provided decades of flood protection + proven its critical role in water management. News 10

- ➤ Assemblymember Yudelka Tapia is pushing the Doorways to Donation Act to let New Yorkers register as organ donors when filing taxes online, aiming to boost the current 53% rate. Bipartisan supporters plan to reintroduce the bill after last year’s veto. WXXI News
