  • Families gathered today at the Golisano Autism Center — a showcase for AutismUp’s programs — for an open house celebrating inclusion in honor of World Autism Awareness Day and Autism Awareness & Acceptance Month.   • OFC Creations is adapting Whitney Houston's film 'The Bodyguard' for stage with singer Aliyah Khaylyn from The Voice. The production runs Thursday, Apr. 9 to Sunday, Apr. 26 at OFC Creations Theatre Center - the 2:00 p.m. show on Sunday includes ASL interpretation.  ABC 13

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Friday, April 17 from noon to 1 p.m., the Rochester Beacon will host an online conversation with RCSD superintendent Eric Rosser — nearing the end of his first year — to review progress on boosting graduation rates and addressing a $50 million budget gap.   • Local colleges, including Nazareth University (with evolving AI courses) and RIT, are preparing students for a future where AI reshapes work.   • MindTrace, emerging from University research in Rochester, is testing technology to map brain function during awake surgeries at URMC and five other sites (covering tumor and epilepsy cases).
