- ➤ Rochester Emergency Veterinary Services will open its new 10,000-square-foot emergency pet hospital at 445 West Commercial St. in East Rochester at 7 p.m. Friday—triple its temporary space with features such as a soundproof cat ward and oxygen cages for pets in respiratory distress. The University Avenue clinic will close Friday as all patient care shifts to the new facility. WXXI News

- ➤ A driver was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Monday, March 24 on Brooks Road in Henrietta as the Monroe County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Delano Altidor of Chili was pronounced dead at the scene — a woman and two children remain hospitalized in critical condition. ABC 13

- ➤ Dominic Denaro, a deputy at Monroe County Jail, was charged with obstruction of governmental administration and official misconduct after alerting inmates before cell searches— he is the second deputy charged in an ongoing internal investigation. News 10
- ➤ Rochester police charged Tony Brown (42) with second degree murder and a gun crime after he fatally shot Ali Saleh (30) at a Clifford Avenue corner store on March 23 in retaliation for a fight earlier in the week, and Brown is scheduled for arraignment this morning in City Court. NewsRadio WHAM

- ➤ The Students’ Association passed Senate Resolution 73 on Feb. 3 to help protect international students, DACA recipients and undocumented students by urging the university to become a sanctuary campus in response to federal immigration orders. The resolution passed with a 13–2 vote and received backing from campus groups while two senators voiced concerns about potential conflicts with federal funding. Campus Times

- ➤ Haley Amering, who faced a deep mental health crisis at 14, now leads free support programs at the National Alliance on Mental Health office on North Goodman Street. After Monday's death of a 15-year-old at the School of the Arts, the office will soon launch a support group for teens — giving them a way to get help early. ABC 13
- ➤ A raccoon in the Town of Lima tested positive for rabies on March 21 and one domestic goat was exposed—though the goat had been vaccinated to prevent infection. Health officials urged residents to avoid contact with wild animals and to report any potential exposures. Rochester First
