- ➤ A 15-year-old girl sustained life-threatening injuries after falling from the roof of School of the Arts on Prince Street on March 24th, prompting police to block traffic and a hold-in-place while she was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital (the fall occurred at 11:30 a.m.) (school officials say student safety remains a top priority). - ➤ K2 Brothers Brewing closed its massive facility at Freewill Elementary in Walworth on March 23 because of legal lawsuits and tax issues — the company will shift operations to its Empire Boulevard site in Penfield. WXXI News

- ➤ Rochester police arrested Tony C. Brown after he fatally shot store employee Ali Saleh at a corner store on Clifford Avenue on Sunday, March 23—officers recovered a .357 handgun from his vehicle in the Portland Avenue area and his arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday. ABC 13
- ➤ Dhymere Bailey, 19, was charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon after fatally shooting 39-year-old Sandra Blanding on Spencer Street last week—first responders found her unresponsive on a sidewalk at 7 a.m. outside a vacant house and Bailey was arrested Friday near Mount Hope Avenue—. - ➤ Yesterday, students at Rochester’s John James Audubon School #33 experienced a science lesson as Liberty Balloon Company brought a hot air balloon indoors on March 24—teaching them about flight and balloon mechanics. The program will soon reach over 3,500 city school students in 2025. ABC 13
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Brooks Avenue underpass near the Rochester airport will close for three weeks in late April for road construction and will temporarily reopen around the Fourth of July though intermittent closures will continue for at least six weeks. The Gates Police Department will post detour signs and restrict truck traffic on Sprucewood and Marilou roads — keeping drivers on the correct paths. Democrat & Chronicle
