CRIME NEWS

  • Police arrested 25-year-old Jaiquan Goins from Rochester for burglary, petit larceny, and criminal mischief after a burglary on Chippendale Road in Greece at 3:15 a.m. on Thursday—victim identification and a drone with thermal imaging helped officers secure the suspect.  ABC 13

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Rochester has its most walkable neighborhoods ranked, with Pearl-Meigs-Monroe earning a score of 92 while the city average is 61 and the Transit Score is 41—after completing its Active Transportation Plan in 2023, the city now plans a ROC Vision Zero initiative to improve pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure.  Democrat & Chronicle
  • Rochester City Council released a report on child poverty that recommends 13 changes – including easing rent costs, expanding affordable housing, and boosting workforce development after local families struggled with rising expenses. The People, Parks and Public Works Committee will consider the report in April and use it to support a working families tax credit aimed at lowering child poverty statewide.  WXXI News

REAL ESTATE NEWS
