  • Today, Veo e-bikes and scooters are back in Rochester through a partnership with the city, offering shared mobility at $1 unlock and $0.39 per minute. Riders can download the app (or call customer service) and enjoy a $5 spring promo credit during March.  Democrat & Chronicle
  • Genesee Brewery inducted 10 community heroes into its Wall of GOATs on March 16 at Genesee Brew House — coinciding with Spring Bock’s 75th anniversary. The event featured a happy hour from 4 to 5 p.m. and an induction ceremony at 5 p.m. at 25 Cataract St.  Democrat & Chronicle

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Whirlwind Rochester Music Hall of Fame announced new inductees that include the historic Pythodd Room and the Seneca Nation along with Broadway star Donna Lynne Champlin and jazz photographer Paul Hoeffler. The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 26 at Eastman Theatre.  ABC 13
  • Cherish the Ladies, a renowned Irish dance group, is performing today at Beston Hall at Nazareth University — doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert starts at 7:30 p.m.  FOX Rochester
  • Bleachers led by Jack Antonoff is set to perform at CMAC on June 20 at 7:30 p.m. as part of their Bleachers Forever tour with special guest Wednesday; tickets will be available for purchase at 10 a.m. on March 20.  Democrat & Chronicle

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Rochester rose 18 cents to $3.58 as national averages increased 24 cents to $3.72 amid supply issues and rising travel demand during Spring Break + officials warn prices may not drop soon. The International Energy Agency will release 400 million barrels to ease the squeeze.  WXXI News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Rochester City School District leadership announced plans to boost mental health supports for students next academic year following committee recommendations; Superintendent Eric Rosser said the initiative will begin with targeted training + student feedback to better meet wellness needs.  WXXI News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Residents must follow a statewide brush burning ban in effect through May 14 to reduce wildfire risks during warmer weather. The DEC allows only small cooking fires and campfires (under three feet high and four feet wide).  WXXI News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • New York State budget talks began as state officials finalized proposals that could shift local funding, while mental health supports were added for Rochester city school students and a community leader launched new programs for hundreds of young girls.  WXXI News

  • Rochester Regional Health is offering student loan repayment help for workers in high-demand healthcare fields, including Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, surgical tech workers and radiologic tech workers, to boost recruitment as students apply while still in school.  News 10

  • Produced by the Rochester Home Builders’ Association, the Rochester Home & Garden Show & Sale will run this weekend at the Riverside Convention Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday; admission is $10 for adults, with children under 12 free.  WXXI News
