ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Early Saturday morning a fire that started at 2:30 a.m. destroyed Rascals Bar and Grill in Williamson, and crews from the Williamson Fire Company with support from nearby departments brought the blaze under control while investigating its cause.  News 10
  • On Saturday, March 15th at 10:30 p.m., a black Honda Civic ran a red light on Driving Park Avenue and struck a Rochester police car traveling south on Mt. Read Blvd.—an officer was taken to Strong Hospital for minor injuries while the driver refused treatment and received several traffic tickets — authorities reported.  News 10

CRIME NEWS

  • A man hit parked cars and nearly struck officers during a high-speed chase on Saturday night—police stopped his car on Gedds Street at 9 p.m. using spike strips and arrested him, and he now faces charges including driving while intoxicated.  News 10

CULTURE NEWS

  • Casa Larga Vineyards debuted its exclusive ice wine collaboration with Iron Smoke Distillery for St. Patrick’s Day weekend by featuring Vidal Ice Wine aged in whiskey barrels and a tasting menu called Wines Meet Spirits — offering festive food and drink treats until 4 p.m. on Sunday.  ABC 13
  • Rochester’s Eastman Museum is hosting Home Movie Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 22, where community members can share home movies for free. Organizers will inspect films on March 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on March 22 from 10 to 11 a.m.—ensuring that only films in good condition are shown.  Democrat & Chronicle

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Rochester residents still face damage from Sunday's severe storm, which brought heavy rain and strong winds (including downed trees, power lines and flooded roads). Some locals reported property damage, such as a car crushed by a falling tree (near Sterling and Otis streets), and city crews plan to clear hazards over the coming days.  News 10

HEALTH NEWS

  • Local home care workers from UR Medicine Homecare in Webster voted on Friday to strike for up to five days — they demand a fair union contract. The picketers held a one-day protest in late February and will return to bargaining on Wednesday—March 19th, 2025.  ABC 13
