- ➤ An Irondequoit officer tried to stop a 2006 Kia with switched license plates near Rochester General Hospital at about 8 p.m. on Wednesday when the vehicle hit a median and collided head-on with another car—resulting in one death and two serious injuries. WXXI News

- ➤ Michael Benjamin, 40, was convicted for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman on May 26—Rochester police located both the victim and Benjamin on North Clinton Avenue and he was sentenced to 164 years to life. News 10
- ➤ A parolee, Shavar Brooks, was sentenced Wednesday to 23 years to life and returned to prison after attempting to kill a 46-year-old man on North Goodman Street the day after Christmas 2023—police said the victim recovered after suffering two gunshot wounds and Brooks had two prior violent felony convictions. - ➤ Rochester police arrested a 42-year-old resident on Park Avenue at 2 a.m. after pulling over his car and finding a loaded ghost gun—an illegal self-assembled firearm—and said more details will be released later. News 10
