  • Five Iroquois Middle School students in West Irondequoit raised over $2,500 at an Applebee’s pancake breakfast fundraiser for cancer research and patients battling cancer; their teacher Jennifer Gottfried organized the Stand Up Project (an annual award program) and scheduled another fundraiser on Sunday, June 14.  News 10
  • Downtown parade organizers plan entertainment with nine bands - six Irish dance groups will join an Olympic gold medalist - and tens of thousands can expect a parade beginning Saturday at East Avenue and Alexander Street with traffic blocked at 11:30 a.m.  News 10

  • Emilia Mullerman, a Ukrainian pianist who began her career in Rochester, made her Carnegie Hall debut Tuesday night after winning first place in the Golden Classical Music Awards. HEALTH NEWS

  • Since 2022, Monroe County Health Department installed naloxone boxes across the community to distribute nearly 50,000 free Narcan kits and now offers test strips for fentanyl and xylazine to help reduce overdoses — data show overdose deaths dropped 43% from 2023 to 2024.  News 10

  • The Bills re-signed Pro Bowl tight end Dawson Knox to a three-year deal that keeps him on the roster through 2028.
