- ➤ Rochester’s Auto Show is underway at Riverside Convention Center with a preview from Chris Lopez. The event opened Friday, Feb. 27 and runs until March 1. ABC 13
- ➤ The New Americans Hotline now expands its hours to include weekends, operating from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with weekday hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Its staff (including a full-time immigration attorney) provide free resources and legal information in over 200 languages statewide. - ➤ Rochester Downtown Development Corporation started Downtown Restaurant Week, Eat Up Rochester, where a different restaurant will visit ARC Rochester every weekday from Feb. 27 to March 8. Reporter Chris Lopez took a live tour to show community favorites (including early highlights) from the event. ABC 13
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ On Friday, Feb. 27, ARC Sound Stage featured local rock 'n' roll up-and-comer Sam Raspante and his band performing songs, showcasing his rising talent in the Rochester music scene. ABC 13
- ➤ The Rochester Preservation Board unanimously approved Eastman Museum's plan to remove the old University Avenue fence — with plans to install new fence sections and plant eight heirloom apple trees where the orchard once stood. Museum officials say fundraising will begin ahead of the planned removal in April. Rochester Beacon
