ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Jan. 22, DEC crews responded near Court Street Bridge when a fuel oil company mistakenly spilled about 170 gallons of diesel into a drainpipe that reached the Genesee River. The agency will investigate the drainpipe since moving water, unstable ice, and weather have delayed cleanup. Spectrum News

- ➤ New York has expanded its child tax credit for families filing a state tax return during this tax season so that eligible parents can get up to $1,000 per child under 4 plus $330 per child ages 4 to 16, with low-income households now fully covered. Democrat & Chronicle
- ➤ Monroe County Sheriff’s Office uses a state-of-the-art center (RIOC) to monitor interstates and 911 calls during winter storms, providing real-time data for first responders today.
