- ➤ GRE and New York Photonics formed a strategic alliance Monday to boost Rochester's strengths in optics, photonics, imaging and laser technologies and attract new businesses. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Rochester charter school leaders say state funding cuts have reduced aid by more than $228 per student over the past two years. The changes affect 9,000 students in 26 schools and they expect Governor Hochul to adjust the funding formula as the legislative session in Albany moves forward. ABC 13
- ➤ A study led by Huaxia Rui at Simon Business School found that crowd-checking on X increased the chance of retractions of misleading posts (an analysis of over 250,000 posts) and may help traditional fact-checkers keep pace with misinformation. Rochester Beacon
- ➤ The Maplewood Community Library (on Lexington Avenue) is closed as staff prepare to relocate to a renovated facility on Dewey Avenue, with the library set to reopen in March. Returns are accepted at any Monroe County branch and loan periods have been extended to April 30. News 10
