Research 101 with Residence Life

About this event

Do you want to get involved in research but are not sure where to start?

Join us for an info session and student panel about finding, securing, and managing research at URochester. Immediately following the 30-minute info session, stick around to mingle with researchers and ask questions during one-on-one conversations.

It starts with an information session from 6:00-6:30pm in Susan B's Friel Lounge from the Office of Undergraduate Research that covers research-related resources available to all undergraduates. Hear from a student panel of researchers.

From 6:30-8:00pm, students may drop in to the breakout rooms that will be designated by specific disciplines as follows:

• Life Sciences in Friel Lounge

• Physical Sciences and Engineering & Math in the Media Lounge

• Social Sciences and Humanities in Harper Lounge

Experienced researchers from the First-Year Fellows and the Research Ambassadors will be available to answer your questions one-on-one or in small groups. Bring a friend and get your research questions answered!

First Year Residential Experience ( FYRE ), First-Year Fellows , and the Office of Undergraduate Research are co-hosting this event for students to learn how to find research opportunities, reach out to potential mentors, and begin their URochester research experience.
